On the Passing of Sal Pacella

A Message from Dr. Trombetta to PA Cyber Staff and Students

I am saddened to share with you the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend Sal Pacella. Sal served our school as a math teacher and course facilitator. He loved his job and he cherished his students and co-workers. Sal believed that we were doing "the Lord’s work" and, providing our students with the support and service they needed, reflected the best of what education and educators should do. Sal considered it a privilege to be in this profession and be part of the PA Cyber family.

When I would see Sal, he always greeted me with a big smile and an eagerness to show me the progress one of his students had made. He never let me pass by without showing a glowing letter he received from a grateful student or parent. He always concluded his remarks saying how much he appreciated his job, this school and the opportunity to part of the PA Cyber family. He truly reflected to all of us that attitude of gratitude. Although Sal had health problems that caused him to miss work, he kept a positive attitude that he would return one day soon. Sadly that didn't happen and today we fondly remember this gentle, kind and caring man.

We will miss Sal but we won't forget him. We won't forget the kindness in his eyes, the enthusiasm in his speech and the warmth of his handshake. I know you all join me in conveying to his family our sympathy, prayers and sincere condolences. On behalf of PA Cyber, our students, staff we wish them the strength and support to cope during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

NT
